Who else is considering canceling Allstate?

Some of these CEO’s are so detached from reality. They really can’t help themselves and have to preach to the unwashed. Unfortunately, there are many others just like him. They just have enough self- control to not say it.

more info?
He made a big speech about divisiveness and basically getting along. It came on before the sugar bowl. It turned out to come across like he was siding with isis in New Orleans. It was not what he meant. He is a moron of the highest order, but it wasn’t what he was getting at. He is tone deaf as hell and should know better, but he hasn’t so far. Just incredibly stupid to have any kind of message that could be construed as political. It basically came off like a woke message.

Apart from that ad, you should cancel Allstate regardless. I am a broker and they’re a company that I can write for. However, I’m very reluctant to write any client’s with them. I have not had a client file a single claim that went well. They are a pain to deal with in general, the adjusters are a pain to deal with, and their agents (in my experience) write awful policies for their clients.

That goes both ways. It depends on your agent. Find you a good agent. Broker or captive. It makes a difference. Awful policies written both ways. Coverages you don’t need. Or not enough coverage. I have been in the business a long time too and worked on both sides as an agency owner. Captive and independent. Find you a place willing to go out of their way for you. Don’t be a number and a rate. The rest will take care of itself. You can google bad insurance claim experiences and find just about every company out there.

However, I have a hard time trusting an agent to do what’s right for me when they do willingly write state minimums, exclude UIM, etc. I can also only provide my experiences with the carriers to my clients and prospects. I have not had a good experience with Allstate, the company itself, in 5 years, so it’s hard for me to recommend them to my prospects.

Right now sometimes you have to. Tough times out there. People are literally making choices to ride without insurance because of the economy. I hear what you are saying.

I had someone who came in today from another independent who had a condo policy. It was a townhouse. That is the kind of stuff that is just ridiculous.

I don’t quote those coverages either. I agree with you that someone with that on a policy isn’t getting what they need for sure.

There’s definitely bad apples out there, captive or indy. I try to be ethical and honest in how I operate, so it bugs me when folks to skirt the proper way of doing things just to make a sale.

I totally agree. There should be more to it than that. I try to do the same. I will say I probably am on the customer’s side too much.

I am a retired insurance agent of 42 years. I majored in insurance at UGA. I don't carry UIM.

Allstate will insure you, but has zero interest in providing coverage for any losses that you might incur. They will fu** you over any and every chance they get. And if you suffer a loss due to the fault of someone they insure, just bend over.

The United Healthcare stuff pales in comparison.

Hopefully Allstate's board will be embarrassed enough and take care of business by replacing him.

What I don’t understand is why? Why did this idiot do this at all? Why take the risk of alienating people?
Some people just are not attached to reality. Like the democrats not having a clue they were alienating the base of their party. He has no idea that other people don’t actually think like he does.

I have other insurance covering my needs for any accident. Collecting UIM would be excess. It's not worth paying for.
Yeah, well the average person doesn’t have what you have. Lol So UIM coverage is necessary for most people.

I have always used that coverage. I think it was Clark Howard who also has the same views as mrdawg. Some people feel that way about the coverage. I agree with you. It has helped so many clients of mine. When Clark Howard originally said this I got so many calls about it. Pretty amazing the reach he had back then.

What coverage is mrdawg referencing that would make UIM unnecessary? Never heard of it.

Again, I totally agree with you. But ch states if you have your vehicle covered with comp and coll, you don’t need it. I completely disagree with. You only don’t need it if you can’t financially afford it. He said it is a waste of money because it comes into play so little. If I remember, he said taking what you would spend on this coverage and putting it in savings would benefit you much more.

With UIM your insurance company defends the uninsured guy against your lawsuit.
