Several are worthy of consideration - Ty Cobb (could very well be the best, I just haven’t seen any video of him ), Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle. For me, there’s no question, it’s Willie Mays. He could do it all….lifetime BA .301, 660 HRs, 339 SB. His HR total would’ve been a good bit higher if he didn’t have to play in probably the two worst stadiums for hitting home runs, the Polo Grounds in NYC and Candlestick in SF and miss 2 years in the army. Defensively he was without peer. He was quick, fast, had great instincts, great arm, and a fierce competitor. Andruw Jones belongs in this category as a defensive centerfielder.
