We could maybe make an argument for Allan Leavitt as Georgia's finest No. 9 of all time. Also, tackle Artie Pew, who was UGA football's first to don No. 9 (from our research, Georgia players, for the most part, started wearing jersey numerals beginning in the 1919 season), was a two-time first-team all-conference honoree.

Still, in the end, we went with a safety-turned-monster of a middle linebacker in Alec Ogletree. Ogletree's closing speed was remarkable. And who can forget his bodyslam of the Tech running back in 2012?
