Dooley had a better record, better recruits, etc. what is it? His tough guy hair cut and talk?

On top of not winning big I heard UT folks didn't care for Dooley. I think Butch may be fighting for his life today however.

Your premise is completely inaccurate. Butch has been much better recruiting. Next year looks bright for UT when the current big sophomore class are upperclassmen and having 3 years of good recruiting. This year far too many of the best players are frosh/sophomores and we still lack quality depth at certain positions, but it has improved dramatically.

Jones is a great recruiter, that allows for hope going forward. I won't be surprised if BJ turns things around.
I think UT will be 8-4 this year which is not all that bad. I do see an upside for them. Their D played well in critical situations yesterday and they came back from a 21 point defecit and pretty much did what they wanted to do on offense. Then again, their fans had given up on them last week and folks were talking about the Georgia game being Butch's last game.

The team essentially quit on Dooley during the 12 Ky game......former players said Dooley was great at X&Os but terrible coaching habits. H.S. coaches also commented about his lack of interest in building relationships with them.....

Ol' Derek's not doing too badly these days. Besides getting paid as the Dallas Cowboys wide receivers coach, he's getting hefty installment payments on his $5 million buyout from the Vols. I'd figure his chirren's college edumacations won't be causing him any undue financial stress.
