Maybe, no such thing in Mizzou. No reason to charge anyone with attempted murder in Georgia. To clarify:
For complex reasons, Georgia law imposes a maximum of ten years imprisonment for attempted murder convictions. Aggravated assault carries a 20-year maximum sentence that requires offenders to serve 90 percent of the sentence before qualifying for parole. Looks like they changed the law in GA, you can get 30 for Attempted Murder now but the DA has to prove you wanted to murder the person. With Assault you just have tyo prove they assualted the person, much easier burden. Also, in GA people serve a lot longer for assault than attempted murder. Local radio guy out here always talks about Attempted Murder charges.
