Seriously. I get the anger this post will trigger, but it's time to ask if Athens is the best place for a great catching TE.
We have a stable full of very good TEs that are going to waste as it is. We already have a great blocker in Harris, I expect he's a stronger blocker than Nauta.
The upside is Schotty and Richt have half a season to show Isaac what We can do with TE talent. If We won't throw to them, or can't. the young man needs to go somewhere he won't be just a blocker and a decoy.
I get that Nauta is likely a better receiver than any TE We currently have, but We've got some very good ones, good enough to THROW THEM THE DAMN BALL.

That was my thought earlier when I made the post about our lack of TE use. We have only completed 11 passes to the TE all year. Why would such a highly ranked player want to come here and be an extra tackle?

I heard a lot of lip service distributed by the coaches that Schott was really going to use the TE's this year and had a track record of doing it in the NFL. I don't know, maybe the OL is so bad that they have to have extra blockers. I would love to know the reason for not using them.

I have got to where I don't put any stock into what Schotty says. It seems to me he just says what he thinks people want to hear. In other words, there's a big disconnect between what he says and what I see unfolding.

Blazevich, Rome and others at TE have proven their ability and SHOULD be getting the ball more. The same applies to Quayvon Hicks, who is FINALLY supposed to be getting some carries at tailback (per Dawgnation.com).

Schooty's starter at TE with The Rams last year had a big season, and he isn't even elite by NFL standards.
If I'm Nauta or his parents I'd look at what happens the rest of this season, not at a UGA promo film.

We'll gladly take him. The leading receiver on the team this season is a TE.
He played at Buford last yeasr with two UT players Austin Smith(OLB) and Quay Picou(DT)

In all seriousness, U/Ga had Chubb. With a weapon like that, the TE was a blocking weapon, not a receiver. Now that he is lost for the remainder of the season, the OC will have to revamp his strategy and you should see more use of the TE as a receiver, more "Jet sweeps " with flankers carrying the ball, more short-mid range throws to get Lambert used to being the man that carries the offense instead of Chubb
Sony Michel is good and when he is healthy, so is Marshall. But they are not quite in the same class as Gurley and Chubb.(IMHO)
