Been thinking about the playoffs and our schedule. No doubt ours is brutal. Neutral site games vs Clemson and Florida. Road games at Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss.
Is it possible for us or any SEC team for that matter to miss the playoffs with a 10-2 record. I mean never say never but I can’t imagine it happening.
I also wonder if this way of thinking impacts injuries and other coaching decisions. Do you coach to win the SEC at all cost or are there some conservative decisions with the big picture in mind.
Will this long term water down the regular season at all? I think no. However, no single game matters any more.
Here is last years final CFP ranking. All 4 10-2 teams finished top 11 (remember at at large gets 12th spot).
