Wonder what Bama and Saban will do now about Taylor (link)

This is way past Richt, Saban and football. He's going to jail

For a spell. He has cases pending in two states now. That makes him a serial offender. Football is in his rear view mirror. This is the kind of sewer colleges recruit from and that, along with the movement toward paying players is the ultimate death of collegiate sports as we knew them. The NCAA is trying to take some action starting with the 2016 class to save college football. But it is not enough. They are upping the academic standards for admission and for freshman eligibility. It needs only to be higher. Otherwise the big donors are going to start dropping by the wayside. Same as paying players, mercenaries if you will. If they are merely employees then classroom attendance will be up for grabs. And unions and labor disputes will be issues. At some point the entire issue of scholarships and recruiting will come up. But the beginning of the end is already at hand.

Quite simply there MANY of these kids do not belong in a college

environment from a social and academic standpoint. It would terribly dilute the game that we love and will never happen because of $$$ but the NFL needs to set up it's own farm system.

Bake ham for that officer's job

Saban waxed poetic about giving these kids second chances and now looks like a DA. So of course the arresting officer will now need to leave to pursue other opportunities.

Concur...and frankly that statement goes beyond just sports...

The whole movement in the country of "everybody deserves to go to college" and by God we'll take more of everybody's money to make it happen is BS. The world needs manual labor, it needs vocational schools, etc. They've watered down the the whole undergrad, bachelor's degree programs so much to the point it's just another level of HS. Then what happens? The ones that want to distinguish themselves from the rest have to go get a Masters.

frankly I am surprised this is seeing the light of day at Bama*

on a positive note, Taylor finally has the street cred to get a call

from Auburn.

And another plus...the Crimson Tide...err...SEC Network should have lots

To talk about...all of it talking about how unfair it all is and getting roll call together for the posse to go burn the arresting officer's house down or some such.

$1,000 bond seems meager for 2nd offense assaulting a woman.

Don't know much about these things but a grand seems inadequate for this offense.
