who was and wasn't to blame for that loss...
1. Was to blame:
Offense. We made it inside the 10-yard line 4 times if you include the OT, and came away with 1 measly FG? Are you kidding me?? That is terrible against anyone, but against a TECH D that got run up and down the field on much of the season.
2. Was not to blame:
Defense should have sued the offense and special teams for lack of support. Until the last drive when we took the short-lived lead, we only had 75 yards of offense after halftime. An epic fail by that side. Then the D makes a great play on the long fumble return by Swann, and also forces the turnover late when Tech could have put the game away.
Yes, they gave up some yards, but overall, they played more than good enough to win especially considering how much that offense ran up and down the field on FSU at the ACC Title game and MSU at the Orange Bowl.
3. Was to blame:
Shoddy special teams play and decisions. We get a field goal blocked in the first half (didn't even include that drive in red zone debacle discussion), We let the kickoff hit the ground and the first guy to touch it was the Tech guy, and the special teams decision to pooch it.
Pruitt's D did way more than enough to win that game.
