I have noticed businesses just dont want your money anymore and god forbid they provide good customer service if they decide to take it. Examples, guy at work calls a local HVAC company to get an energy survey, after the company missed two appointments the survey is finally completed, co worker is already willing to replace entire unit and add foam insulation to house, guess what? HVAC company wont send him results of survey and wont return his calls. 10K right down the drain there because of a crappy employee. Example 2, I have a piece of equipment at work that is down, Contact repair rep. diagnoses problem. I tell him get me a price, i need it right away(government contract) Hasn't contacted us back for three weeks. 15K down the drain right there! Example 3 go to lunch today, dude doesnt drop my wings when I order them, so, I wait for 30 minutes on wings, do I get a "hey my bad, you can have them for 50% off" hell no! not even an apology.
My question is: As a business owner how do you follow up on employees to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to do? If I were the HVAC company owner or the Equipment company owner I would be pissed. As for the restaurant, who cares, they will be out of business in a month anyway.

BTW The subject line was just to get your attention

Maybe they don't want to do business with you. I have a few customers that are such a pain in the ass that I wouldn't work them at double the rate. Life's too short. But, I hear you. Can't get a plumber to show up on time. No showed twice!

Nah. That's not it, we are talking about two different people, not to mention I got along with the guy great. Even if I was an ass, I am still setting there with a CC card ready to buy a large ticket item. Shoot, it would have been shipped to me, he wouldn't have to even come back. I think people are just lazy and there is no importance on giving someone your word anymore.

Seems to be hot and cold. I have some guys fight for business while others just don't give a damn. I haven't seen a common theme yet. Had a gutter guy never call back to make an estimate but then had a charter boat guy bend over backwards. Just don't understand it.

Based on a recommendation from my across the street neighbor (and we saw the work), we had a painting company do some work. They did a good job at a good price so we called them again. They sent out a screw up, so we called them back and said send somebody else out. They sent the same moron out again. We wouldn't let him in the door, just told him we weren't interested.
And they did a similar thing to my neighbor. They had 2 satisfied customers trying to give them more business, then they piss us off.
My dry cleaners didn't pick up my laundry yesterday. I sent a text to the gal and she said I was supposed to text her to pick it up. I told her I did, but it was 2 days ago and that I know I should have reminded her.........all you have to do is look at the text trail before throwing it back on me................
And believe it or not, I am pretty easy to get along with.
Having said that, there are numerous business owners that jump through hoops and do a great job.

Why not paint your own walls and iron your own shirts if you're gonna be so fractious and hard to get along with?
