You know, I'd really like to see the NCAA allow LOIs to be signed anytime

after a kid starts his senior year in his school. The first time a kid says "I'm committed" thereafter, he should have an LOI slid under his nose to sign. If he signs it, it's binding (with few noted exceptions such as the head coach getting canned). And, if he doesn't sign it, he isn't committed and the school should press forward wide open recruiting his position. In other words, keep your mouth shut about committing unless you are willing to sign the paper. Wouldn't that cut down on a lot of this circus show?
