McMurphy released his initial 12-team playoff and bowl projections today and has us #1 but playing in the Sugar Bowl.
Why would we not play in the Peach Bowl as the #1 team? Are they trying to assume that because the Big Ten champ would want to go to Pasadena the SEC champ would want to go to New Orleans? Is this a part of the new contract where each bowl gets their preferred conference champion and the Sugar Bowl is always the SEC champ like the Rose Bowl will be for the Big Ten champ?
It would be a very bad look on Sankey, Morehead, and Brooks if this is the case and we will never be able to play in the Peach Bowl as a conference champion.
I would rather want to host a play off game in Sanford and then play a quarterfinal in the Peach Bowl as the lower seed than have a bye and have to go to New Orleans as a conference champ.
