Let me start by saying that a 3 peat hasn’t been pulled off in modern college football history because it’s damn hard. We absolutely have the talent to do it, playoffs are inevitable. But eventually we will have to come off the mountain top for a year or so.

With all that being said, I think we can be the first team in the modern era to do it.

Let’s start with what truly matters to championship football teams. DEFENSE and LOS. The real factor to who wins the national championship 95% of the time is the team with the highest aggregate recruited roster who develops them into the most NFL talent(stars do matter).

The 2023 and 2024 defenses will be better than the last 2, potentially by a decent margin too.

Your 2023 DL will consist of Mykell, Brinson, Stackhouse, Logue, TID, Bear, Christen Miller, M’pemba(that dude isn’t playing OLB, he’s massive), Christen Miller, Jarrett, and my pick for top impact newcomer, Jordan Hall.

Brinson, Stackhouse, Miller are all top 100 draft picks at worst. TID, Mykell, Bear, Jordan Hall, and M’pemba are likely first rounders when the light comes on(TID). We will have an NFL sized and explosive DL in 2023. This group will look an awful like like 2021 upfront. We can’t replace Carter 1 for 1, but the overall group will be much improved and teams can’t double everyone.

ILB should be the best it’s been under Kirby, 2021 included. Smael is going to be the best to play ILB for Kirby, JDJ will go down as an all time leader and he can flat play too. Trouble is solid depth behind them and the 3 freshmen are unbelievable. That boasts more speed and skill than 90% of secondary in the countries, nobody has more thump, and the pass rush ability from the group would make a lot of DL coaches envious.

The EDGE guys will be the DL and ILB’s equal. Jalon Walker has a chance to be Azeez with a little Lo Carter thrown in. He can play in space, but he’s special rushing the passer with his get off. MJJ screams future first rounder, Darris Smith is 1 of the top athletes Kirby’s had anywhere, Chaz will continue his solid play, the freshmen will get some looks. Pretty much every guy in that room could start at 90% of teams in America and we are 5-6 deep there.

The secondary should be better in 2023 than it was in 2022. Ringo and Chris will be tough to replace. Nobody is Ringo’s equal in pure talent and Chris Smith has played a TON of football. His leadership will be missed back there. With all that being said. Malakai Starks should be a consensus all American in 2023. Whether it’s DDS, Smoke, or Bullard at safety, we will be very good still. Kirby and Champ don’t have bad safety play. Everette is a future top 10 pick and Lassiter is damn solid. The addition of Smoke provides a ton of flexibility for that group. Not many sun 4.4 kids hanging around that can play all 3 secondary spots. He’s either going to be the most explosive safety or slot guy we’ve had athletically. Bullard is a super stud, his long term fit will be safety in the NFL. He may slot right in to his old spot or play Chris Smith’s old role. Regardless, the secondary will be stupendous.

The schedule sets up for an all time low scoring defense. I think you’ll see several school records broken. Tennessee and Ole Miss are the only teams with an outside shot of scoring 21+.

We should be allowing an average of 5-7PPG game by the time the SECG rolls around. Every single player in the 2 deep is an NFL prospect on D.

The offensive line will be the best in the country yet again. The long short of it is whether it’s Monken, Bobo, or a national search. We don’t need to be 2019 LSU offensively to make history. The next 2 defenses will be better than the prior 2. We are way out in front of the pack in talent. It’s in the right areas, it would be hard for any coordinator to screw up the absolute juggernaut that is UGA football currently.
