Winning Back 2 back did soften the blow however I'm still somewhat numb over the way our season played out. We finish the year 13-1 and 4th in the AP poll (3rd in coaches). The only blemish on our resume was a 3-point loss to Alabama who took the national champions to OT. We fell from 1 to 6 after that 3-point loss. Blew out FSU by 60 points. Deep in my soul I know the 2023 team was one of the best 4 teams in the country, yet the narrative was that we didn't win our conference and the other 1 loss conference champs were more deserving.
