We’re moving to a 12 team playoff.
-Your national champion blatantly cheated and faced essentially no adequate consequences. This is utter insanity that attacking the integrity of the sport was ignored? I’m not arguing Michigan isn’t one of the best 4 in the country. They proved in the playoff on the field they can hang. The problem is rewarding behavior that should be zero tolerance. I know money is why this happened. It still doesn’t mean the sport is a joke for allowing it to be this way.
-Will the 12 team playoff fix this? Obviously no as corruption never dies and we will run into new problems and outrage like seedings/matchups. Rarely some will cry about #13 being left out, but most will agree at that point you’ve lost too many games to be a victim.
-The sport will never be 100% fair it’s impossible. However, now that we’re giving 12 teams a legitimate shot to compete for a national title it will be hard to argue we’re not getting a true champion. The BCS was a joke. The 4 team playoff was much better although as seen this season a joke. It will be hard to view this new format as a joke.
