I definitely don’t want to switch places with Mizzou, but they had far fewer negative running plays yesterday than we did. We were great on 3rd and long yesterday, but there is no need to make it tougher on ourselves. Any thoughts on what is breaking down or what we could do schematically to improve in this area? I get that part of it is that Mizzou is extremely aggressive on D and hit home on several run blitzes, but if memory serves we have had more negative run plays this year than the norm.
Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I’m not complaining. Every team can improve, and I’m sure the coaches are trying to improve in this area. And other than the play calling at the end of the half yesterday I had very little criticism of Bobo.
