What a privilege it was to know HS coaching legends Nick Hyder, Wright Bazemore and Joe Wilson.
Also, Erk Russell (loved Erk to death and he was so cool to me), Billy Henderson over at Clarke Central…
Cool story for those who follow me on Facebook. Last week I reconnected with AC Cooper down in Clinch County. One of the best overall athletes I’ve ever seen - starred in football, baseball and basketball for Clinch in 1988 when they won the Class A football, basketball and baseball titles in the same academic year. To my knowledge, that hasn’t been done since.
Anyway, it was really fun reconnecting with someone I had not spoken with since 1988.
Sorry for getting all sappy this morning…just been fun looking back. I’ve been very fortunate to do what I do.
