Georgia currently has 15 commits, but there are still some big holes to fill on both sides of the ball with the remaining spots. Let's take a closer look.

OFFENSE:
Georgia already has one position finalized for this class, and that is quarterback with Houston County prospect Jake Fromm. Both the running back and offensive line positions are one player away from locking up those spots for this class. One of those positions could be finalized within the next 15 days. Philadelphia running back D'Andre Swift will announce his decision on September 1st with Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and Penn State as his finalists. The Bulldogs sit in an excellent position to land the Rivals100 back, and it could complete another position for this class teaming him up with Rivals250 back Toneil Carter. If Georgia does land Swift, they will still pursue Cam Akers till the end. It is one of those situations that if you can land him, GREAT, but if he chooses to go elsewhere then the class would already have two excellent backs in it.

Sam Pittman has put Georgia on the map with recruiting the offensive line position. The Bulldogs currently have three four-star commits on the line, including Netori Johnson, Andrew Thomas, and D'antne Demery. Three-star offensive guard Justin Shaffer is the fourth commit. With only one spot remaining, Pittman, Smart and Chaney have the opportunity to be a little selective moving forward. Look for Georgia to go all out for five-star offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson as the Bulldogs sit in the top two for the New York target. The Bulldogs could elect to go the JUCO route, with Badara Traore being a prospect that Pittman is monitoring. Either way, the Bulldogs have put themselves in an excellent position on the offensive line, and will take their time with the last spot here.

Wide receiver is the one spot on offense that still has some work to do. James Coley and the Bulldogs currently have two commits at the position, including Rivals250 prospect
Trey Blount and three-star Florida receiver Matthew Landers. Look for Georgia to take two more at this position in this class and they are currently sitting well with Rivals100 receiver Mark Webb and three-star prospect Jeremiah Holloman. If Georgia could land those two prospects, they would be done at the position for this class and both of these prospects could announce their decisions this fall.

Overall, Georgia is sitting in an excellent position for this offensive class. With only a couple spots remaining at each position, the Bulldogs can be picky, but at the same time, they can feel needs and go after the big dogs without the risk of having to store lower ranked backup plans. If they can fill the class before National Signing Day, everything else added is just icing on the cake.

DEFENSE:
The defensive side of the ball is a little more uncertain moving into the fall months. Georgia does not have an individual position that is close to being finalized like they do on the offensive side. The defensive line currently has one commit, and that is former South Carolina pledge Devonte Wyatt. The Bulldogs will likely take two more in this class. Tracy Rocker could elect to take the JUCO route with Walter Palmore, but I believe that all depends on how the young pups develop this season. Take an upperclassman might not be a necessity if Michail Carter, Julian Rochester, and Tyler Clark develop nicely over the season. Malik Herring is arguably the top target for this class, and the Bulldogs currently sit in an excellent position to land the Mary Persons standout. If Herring joins Wyatt on the commit list, Rocker will need to add more beef in the middle. Look for him to continue to pursue Aubrey Solomon immensely until National Signing Day. Aaron Sterling and Marquez Bembry are two other options Georgia will look at if they choose to pursue another defensive end type in this class.

Linebacker is a position the Bulldogs need to add depth at, and look for them to take six or seven at the position in this class. Jaden Hunter, Robert Beal, and Breon Dixon already gives the Bulldogs three talented guys at that position. Look for them to take three to four more and they have a ton of options at this point. At the inside linebacker position. look for Georgia to add Nate McBride to the commit list. McBride would give Georgia three Rivals100 guys in this class. After him, I believe the last three spots will go to an inside linebacker, an outside linebacker, and a combo linebacker that could play all of the positions. Hunter is another guy that can play on the outside (if he adds the weight) and the inside at the next level. K.J. Britt and Monty Rice are two prospects that the Bulldogs are in the top two for that could play on the inside. Markaviest Bryant is the prospect I feel Georgia will add at outside linebacker to join Beal. Leonard Warner, Walter Grant, and Tyler Taylor are the three combo type linebackers I will be monitoring closely. Georgia is going to land a lot of talented dudes at the linebacker position, but which ones are up in the air at this point.

Moving on the the secondary, this is where things have become a little cloudy as of late. The Bulldogs have pledges from Rivals100 defensive backs Richard LeCounte and William Poole III along with three-star corner Latavious Brini. Look for Georgia to take five defensive backs in this class. That leaves two spots open. The Bulldogs had JaCoby Stevens all but locked up, but things changed quickly and LSU grabbed his commitment. One of those last two spots will go to Deangelo Gibbs in my opinion, but the fifth spot is uncertain at this time. Look for Mel Tucker to pursue a lot of top tier guys throughout the fall, including Xavier McKinney, Jeffrey Okudah, Jaylon Johnson and Shaun Wade. Also look for the Bulldogs to continue to recruit AJ Terrell and JaCoby Stevens hard to the end. The Bulldogs need to make a splash with these last two commitments, and this is the spot that could ultimately make Georgia into a good class or great class in the end.
