There are a lot of avenues to an official kickoff of WW3 (Israel/Iran, Russia/Ukraine, China/Taiwan, North Korea's crazy ass getting bored).
& there aren't too many world leaders trying to cool down escalating tensions. Not too many off ramps on this hwy to serious global war scenarios & world leaders are ignoring the offramps they do pass.
Once again, common citizens have no appetite for all out war but elected officials don't care
