One trend is becoming more and more noticeable. We need to execute much better on defense. I know who we lost from last years team but the guys behind them are struggling. Most guys on defense had poor eye discipline and seemed to forget how to take angles. Obviously more on running plays than passing ones. Dline is playing below our standard which was to be expected. We need to restock quickly . Now saying what i am going to say it is not an excuse but the reason things happened. We could not stop getting fooled by what they were doing. It led to wrong gaps, poor angles. no edge setting and poor execution at times. It is fixable so we should be better next week. One thing some people know but either choose to forget or blow it off is our defense was never going to be like the D of the past few years. We shut down there offense on a series then next one we acted like we never saw that formation or play before. But enough about defense. Offense played good but missed a few long ones. Oline pass blocking was good but blocking really struggled. The biggest thing we really need to stop is the turnovers. Cant keep giving teams a short field. Carson did a very good job except for missing a few long gains that probably would have made a huge difference. While we may not have played well overall we showed a very good amount of grit. We fought and took their best shot and came back. Also Thorson was awesome again and Woodling looked good as well. Well have at it. Oops almost forgot that Bowers guy has some potential. He keeps it up he just be a star. As always GO DAWGS!!!
