as a lot of you know i’m a marine biologist and worked with dolphins in the keys. I also did my grad reach with manatees. We are down here right now trying to work this mess. We went out for a dive to do some sampling for dissolved oxygen and contaminates. Well the storms pushed off the water..divers swim and don’t like to get wet from rainwater 🙄
Anyway on our way back in we found the carcass of a manatee. We used our hoist to lifet her out of the water so a biologist could perform a necropsy to determine death. Anyway it’s such a disheartening scene down here and i’m an emotional wreck…picking up dead fish up is sad within itself….but a manatee? 😟😢
