Summary…the pitch clock is not the issue, the pitch count is what started the issue, players trying to max out, which created the constant focus on velocity, as opposed to getting batters out has created this issue. He sees players in HS and college who are more concerned about speed than learning to pitch. Simple explanation that’s hard to argue with. Tommy John surgeries are on the rise at every level of baseball. The UCL has its limits and history shows us that more velocity = more TJ.
