Just a stick of butter?...No extra water, broth, or anything, iyo?

"Put a stick of butter, One packet of Onion Gravy powder and One envelope of Au Jus mix
and let it sit all day on low. It's the best roast I've ever had. I thought it was BS until I tried it,
but that stick of Butter keeps it juicy and moist. Make sure it's real Butter.
Also some people add a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing powder too."

Definitely needs some water IMO. Ranch not necessary. I did tenderloin

so it needed a little shot.

nope, added no liquids and it was perfect...

remember the meat (i used a chuck roast) is going to produce its own juices... that, plus the butter made it perfect. I took the roast out at the end, and added a couple of tablespoons of flour to the liquid while still in the crockpot. made for perfect gravy.

for about 7 hours on low...the roast was about 3 lbs..

i didn't use the ranch dressing mix either.
