I know he hasn't been given much of a chance, but I just don't believe Ridder's ceiling is 'franchise QB'
With that being said, Zach Wilson & Trey Lance are young, talented (at least talented enough to be drafted in top-3 picks) that haven't caught on with their current team for differing reasons.
Arthur Smith seems to be a decent coach, and the roster is decent with some pieces outside of QB. I feel like if you could get a young QB that many believed had franchise potential for a couple mid-late draft picks*, it could at least give some hope to catch lightning in a bottle.
*I don't think Jets or 49ers would have much leverage, and probably wouldn't mind shedding the large contracts/distraction

Going ahead and getting the: "I don't care about the Falcons, they suck, this is 'non-dawg' posts outta the way.... I haven't really cared much since the '16 Super Bowl either, but I'd like them to be good again.
