First, UGA is currently -3.5/-162 to beat Bama in the SECCG...but then look at the 'To Make CFP' odds:
1. UGA -360 (!!) - implied odds here would be around +280 for UGA to NOT make the playoff, i.e. bet $1 to win $2.80.
This would seem to suggest we have a better chance of making it -- even with a loss -- than some might initially think, even if some other teams don't help us out. Completely different scenario last year, but remember when TCU lost their championship game against K St and didn't move at all? Yes, a lot of the teams on the outside looking in last year did not have championship games to help their cause...but would the CFP drop us from #1 to #5 or worse for a loss to a minimum top 5 Bama?
The Rest:
2. Mich -260
3. Oregon -180
4. Ohio St -105 - also keep this in mind: OSU is +134 to beat Mich and a 21.5 favorite over Iowa if they win
5. Texas +125
6. FSU +130
7. Bama +145 (Bama is only +130 to win SECCG, which suggests they still need a break even if they win)
8. Washington +170 - they are current 7.5 dogs in a hypothetical rematch with Oregon
