I think we all would agree that last year's team is more talented than this years. We had a first round pick at left tackle, a healthy Mims, a healthy Brock, Darnell Washington (who we ran our entire offense through) and better running backs. Our defense isn't as good so the offense doesn't get as many possession. Yet this is the take I see time after time here.
"Bobo's play calling in the red zone isn't as good as last year." "We kick too many field goals."
From a numbers stand point, at this point in the season last year we kicked 17 field goals, This year - with less talent on offense- we have kicked 18. Nothing substantially different whatsoever.
Stop believing the narrative that you want to see that Bobo doesn't know what he's doing in the red zone. Do you remember last years Kentucky game? Or last year's Missouri game? The first half of Tech last year?
Coaches aren't always going to be perfect. Monken wasn't. Bobo isn't. The end of the half last week was just bad. And it doesn't have to be one or the other. Bobo can call a great week where we score 50 and still have things that need to be worked on. He can have a bad series and still not be a horrible offensive coach too.
