Spoke with Matthews after Parkview's workout this morning.
Georgia did well for itself on the official visit. From speaking with Matthews, it sounds like the main tenor of the visit was how the Bulldogs could prepare Matthews for the NFL.
He went over film with Bryan McClendon and Mike Bobo. McClendon broke down Matthews' game and what he can get better at, while also mentioning that he still trains guys like AJ Green and Julio Jones. Bobo showed clips of his offenses from Colorado State and the four receivers from there he helped send to the NFL. I know of Michael Gallup, couldn't tell you the other three off the top of my head to be honest.
The meeting with Kirby Smart took a similar tone. Smart emphasized that Matthews will be going against the best of the best every day in practice. No defense in the country will prepare him more for the league than the one he would face in Athens.
The feeling around Parkview is that Matthews' recruitment still hasn't been decided. There's a week by week approach to these official visits, comparing schools as they go. Georgia certainly made quite the compelling argument this weekend. Time will tell if it will be enough to land Matthews.
On that front, there's no set timetable for a commitment at this point.
