Dementia is cruel and unforgiving. Thankfully he was loved and supported by so many people, along with a wonderful Hospice team.
He turned 90 yesterday which was sort of a goal that I hoped that he would reach despite this battle. He was married 61 years to my Mother, the love and light of his life.
I've never met a more loving, strong, kind, or more principled man in my life. If I ever wind up becoming half the man that he is and was, I will consider myself having lived a good life.
There were two scriptures that were shared with me today that I really appreciated.
2 Samuel 3:38 - "And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?"
Daniel 12:13 - "But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days."
Any positive thoughts or prayers are appreciated today. And go hug your Mom and Dad and tell them that you love them, while you can.
