There is a reason the NFL does slot rookie contracts. They are unproven at that level. It seems like big time NIL to incoming freshman is likely to blow up. Now paying for proven talent (see AD Mitchell) seems better. Down side is a team of all “free agents” has no culture. Kirby clearly trying to balance here… he will earn every dollar if he can continue to pull it off in this climate.

Does everyone agree? This will mean missing on some highly coveted kids. However, IF we lose a kid like Rialo but get a proven producer like Etiene that is a winner. QB is also different since experience matters an awful lot at this position. The Becks of the world who wait their turn will soon be a thing of the past.
