When you lower academic standards for athletes then in my opinion it's not about education. I'm sure non-athletes with better grades and test scores get denied admission a lot in favor of athletes. When head coaches make 5 to 10 times that of president of university, football is all about the money. The TV deals, 40 bowl games, so players imo should get NIL and probably before long revenue sharing. Do people hate the NIL because they hate 18 year olds getting money to play a sport? I will continue watching college sports NIL or no NIL. It is indeed about $ and not education, it's side entertainment for fans and students to have representation of their school.
