Well, we haven’t seen this before. We have always been extremely competitive at home for the whole 40 minutes…not today. We have lost the last 3 by 49, 32, and 22. Lets dive in.

1st half
Mizzou goes to a zone, begging us to shoot from deep. We say thank you and hit 8 for 17 from three. Life is good. We finish the half up by 1. Should have been more but Mizzou was hitting from three as well (7 for 16). That and the fact that we turned it over 9 times. But at the same time, we caused Mizzou to turn it over 8 times. Our defense was rotating decently.

2nd half
We couldn’t score. We score 22 for the whole second half. We turn it over 10 times. Mizzou hits 7 out of 12 3’s. We try to go zone, they start hanging on the rim jamming…once again. The biggest difference in the 2nd half was that Mizzou got out of that zone and started playing man to man defense the whole second half. We had no answer for this. We just couldn’t score. Mizzou was also hot.

Final Analysis:
This feels like a low point because this one was at home. In the second half, it looked like Mizzou was better than us at every position. It probably would have looked like this the whole day had Mizzou been playing man to man defense the whole game. We don’t have the horses right now. We looked better earlier in the season when Roberts was playing at an elite level, but he is not for whatever reason and we are struggling to find a bucket when needed. 19 turnovers. Real bad. The calling card from this team from the beginning of the season through the first 7 or 8 games of sec play was that they would fight you. That fight for whatever reason seems to be waning. Our leader was Roberts. He for whatever reason, he can’t lead right now. Not putting this all on him, but we have to find someone to balance this ship out for us and get us fighting again.
