Some scrimmage notes from my contacts:

Brock Bowers and Daijun Edwards didn’t participate in the scrimmage. Both were running on the side. Kirby Smart said Daijun Edwards is close to returning, which will help with needed depth at RB.

The the real gem of today’s practice was Lawson Luckie. This guy is athletic! He did a good job of blocking and snagged a 60+ yard touchdown. He also had a touchdown and two other catches (three total) in a two minute drill.

Oscar Delp continues to show a great skillset. He’s developing quickly.

Wide receivers looks good. Arian Smith, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint and Ladd McConkey all played well. Dominic Lovett and Rara Thomas are good additions. Dillon Bell is in the mix.

Carson Beck looked solid today and has good awareness. He completed some good shots. He did have 3 INTs during situational part of practice one for TD by Javon Bullard.

Brock Vandagriff
hit some bullets. One was to Dillon Bell for TD. Another was to Oscar Delp on busted coverage.
“He looks the part,” one source told me.

Gunner Stockton has “moxy” and has big upside. He connected with Mekhi Mews over and over in the 3s vs. 3s. Kirby Smart mentioned how the third team is capable.

O-line is good with Austin Blaske and Earnest Greene alternating at LT with the ones. There is lots of potential with 2s and 3s on this roster.

Defense missed some tackles, but that is to be expected. This was the first time Georgia has tackled since the national championship.

Speed. Size. Quickness. All were obvious for the defense, especially in situational work. The ones did give up some long drives.

Nyland Green, Daylen Everette and Julian Humphries all look the part at DB.

Georgia is loaded at linebacker.

Brett Thorson punted well. The arrival of Dominic Lovett means Georgia has a new option for returning. He catches smoothly and is quick.

Slow start for Jared Zirkle, but he did better with FGs and kickoffs as the scrimmage went along.

Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson are big, powerful guys that got most of load. With only two healthy scholarship RBs, it seems like Mike Bobo focused on passing today.

It was good competition. And even though Kirby Smart brought up penalties to media, it really wasn’t bad…we all just know what the standard is.
