Last year we came out hot, starting 3-1 in the SEC. From there we steadily declined losing 12 of the next 15. By the end of the year we were clearly the worst team in the SEC.
This year is looking like a similar story. 4-2 start and now have lost 5 straight. Seems like the rest of the SEC is improving much faster than us.
Interestingly enough, as I type this, Daymeon Fishback just said the exact same thing on SEC Now. He said he has “major concerns” about the way UGA has fallen off in the middle of the season in back to back years
People can make excuses about talent, or time, but no matter how you slice it this pattern is extremely concerning.
Mike White NEEDS to hold on to Demary & Blue. Hopefully get Jabri and Melendez to stick around as well. That core paired with Asa Newell and a couple transfers to fill in the holes is more than talented enough to be a tournament team.
This year is lost. I hope we can turn it around a bit to have some momentum going into next year. If we don’t make the tournament next year, he’s simply not the guy.
