How do we score? It was our biggest question coming into the season and it probably remains our biggest question mark now. As @UGAtater pointed out in last game's postgame thread, we are 12th in the SEC in field goal percentage and 13th in the conference in total points scored. Those two are pretty rough numbers. However, check this quote out by Mike White in the postgame presser after our first game against Oregon in which we lost:

"I liked our spacing. I liked the fact that we got 30 3's off. That's what this team needs to do."

This quote was very interesting because we didn't shoot that many three pointers the year before (201st in the country) and our percentage was bad (311th in the country). Then in the next 12 games, we only shot the three 30 times in two other games (Miami and Ga Tech). But our overall three point numbers have increased the year. We are 142nd in 3 point attempts and a way better 143rd in 3 point percentage. We currently sit 6th in 3 point percentage in the SEC. And this is with RJ Melendez shooting a wretched 19% from three. As a team we have shot 302 total three pointers, Melendez has shot 43 three of them. If you take out Melendez's threes, we move into 4th place in the SEC in three point percentage. Our one true offensive advantage is three point shooting. We have three guys in the top 34 in the SEC in 3 point%:

13. Jabri - 42.6%
31. Blue - 36.4%
34. Thomasson - 35.9%

And Melendez has completely calmed his three point shooting down. He is taking select three's and making them. In the last 4 games, he has averaged 2 attempts per game and has hit a great 50% of them. Demary as well. In the last 4 games he has shot 7 total and hit 3 of them for 43%.

So how do we score or how do we have an advantage on offense? Well it isn't two pointers (We are currently 263rd in the country in attempts and percentage made). Mike White seems to have let us know after game 1. It's the three ball. Now, why haven't we been jacking up a ton in non-conference? Maybe because we didn't have too. We were bigger and more athletic than a lot of these smaller schools.

Find Jabri, Blue, and Thomasson and let them fire away. Use our bigs to set picks to get the shooters open. Play Jabri, Blue, and Noah together. This lineup has been good to us but we have used it sparingly.

Our advantage appears to be a 3 and D team. Defend the heck out of it and let our shooters cook. Demary and Melendez can keep people honest with their drives. Deloach and Tchewa need to go get that freaking ball when a miss happens. Hill can help facilitate the shots. This is our offensive advantage. Mike White tried to tell us.
