UGA Women’s Tennis won the NCAA Super Regional Friday.
I love football games, and I love basketball games, but you get a lot of action at a tennis match.
It starts out with 3 Doubles matches all playing at the same time. Then there are 6 Singles matches playing for the championship. There is so much action following all these matches, watching the ebbs and flows, trying to figure out how the Dawgs are going to get the 4 winning points.
The action is intense … with no TV timeouts.
In the end, it came down to 2 points against U. Cal on either of the side by side courts. Win those two and we advance. Lose those 2 points and it could be a huge loss. Kinda like 3rd and long on a needed 1st down!
How do you watch 2 matches at the same time? … It’s not easy, but it’s exciting!
They pulled it off, and it’s off to Oklahoma City next weekend!
My point …
- The Tennis Team played great and showed a lot of grit!
- The entertainment value was amazing - exciting, great family environment and … you don’t have to be a big tennis fan to enjoy it.
- give it a look next year!
