No better way to close out the SEC before it becomes unrecognizable next year. The last championship game between East and West, the last 3:30 CBS game with the theme song, the last game played in the SEC in it’s glory days before it gets ruined by Texas and Oklahoma and the bloated 16 team divisionless “super” conference.
Going out with a great game between the best football program from the West and the East is a fitting way to end it, and will be especially fun since the two have become rivals in the last 6-7 years.
From now on, if it gets played at all, the SEC Championship will be pretty redundant since the loser will make the playoff anyways every year. The cherry on top would be to eliminate Alabama and make them the last team to ever have their season end with a loss in Atlanta in the SECCG.
