Jalen Carter story recruiting impact

We had some ask about the impact of the Jalen Carter news on Georgia recruiting. Listen, at the end of the day, people have to take accountability for their own actions. However, recruiting is a cutthroat deal in the SEC and you hate to think that people would try to capitalize on a situation that involved the tragic loss of two lives, but I'm sure people recruiting against Georgia will attempt to negative recruiting citing a lack of control and maybe a lack of humility. Would be a fine line to walk though for them with two lives having been lost. Also, I think at this point Georgia has plenty of good will built up as a program to combat that sort of negative recruiting. A sad situation all the way around.

The Jones recruitment Georgia's to lose in the opinion of the RUMORS vs. FACTS crew. Is in Athens today for a visit. Kirby Smart will be bound and determined to not let this talented future DB in college leave the Peach State.

Freakishly athletic. No. 1 player in the Class of 2025 that needs to add weight, but comparisons to Broderick Jones and his athleticism are well warranted. Georgia is in a good spot right now in this recruitment as one of the top contenders. Sanders attends the same school that 2023 Georgia signee Chris Peal went to.

Looks like a Georgia/Bama battle. Georgia wants Calhoun badly. Calhoun is looking to commit in the summer Georgia is getting an official in June and look for Calhoun to visit Athens this month as well. Calhoun just moved to Walton High School, home of Dom Blaylock.

Who Takes Bobo's role from last year?

All of the current Georgia QB commits and targets have mentioned the name Coach Gummy very often. They are referring to son of former Georgia and Falcons DC Brian VanGorder, Montgomery "Gummy" VanGorder. He has been with Georgia for the past three seasons, played at Notre Dame and Youngstown State as a QB, and has a lot of connections in the state of Georgia as he attend North Hall and Buford. Expect him to stick around and play a key role with QBs, based on what recruits like Raiola, Montgomery, Lewis, Puglisi, and others are saying.

Commitment Timelines
With the new world of NIL and there being a finite amount of it at each school per class, expect to continue to see the trend of guys committing sooner rather than later. No, NIL is not the deciding factor in all, or even most, recruitments, but it is a factor in all of them at this point. We believe there will be a flurry of commitments this summer after OVs begin. Aaron Butler is a prospect to look out for early on, late spring/early summer. Don't think Raiola's makes it past the end of June. If it does, it won't be too long past that.

Georgia's commits are really working hard on reaching out and recruiting Matthews. Particularly Ryan Puglisi. Georgia seems in line to get an official visit based off his talks with @JedMay lately. Tennessee, Clemson, and Notre Dame are all programs to watch with him. Georgia has a shot, but I would not place them as the betting favorite if I was a Vegas oddsmaker.

Questions about the supposed Nebraska momentum with Raiola. It's a lot more about positive sentiments being put out and embellished upon by sources in the Nebraska program. At the end of the day, Raiola and those around him express a desire to win. Is it impossible that Rhule and company to convince him of a turnaround? No. It is likely? No. USC is a bigger threat at this point. Raiola is going to be in town March 18, as we reported here first and never waivered from. We are hearing that he and his family will be in Athens two more times after that before he commits to the school of his choice.
