(don't say I didn't warn you) And, I'm don't believe it's either, I'm just saving Pug and others the trouble...

I had the same upbringing as Radi...politics and religion were taboo. Unfortunately, at some point you have to take a stand.

First, the things I'm really tired of hearing:

- That because I like Trump...I'm a racists, bigot, KKk member etc...
- Trump only appeals to "Billy Ray" types. Guess what, Billy Ray and his type built this country. And yes, they are angry that we've had someone in the white house trying to destroy that for 7+ years.
- That Trump is a "Trojan Horse"...give me a break.
- That Trump can't win against Hilary...no one thought BHO could win either. Boy were we wrong.
- That Trump is a racist. NO President in recent history is more factually racist than Obama. Period. If ANY white candidate had attended a church like Jeremiah Wright's for 20 years they would never have made the white house. (simple test for racism, just change the colors in the sentence...works every time).
- And yes, I'm tired of hearing that whites are the only racist. Unfortunately, we don't have the market cornered on it and never will. Fact is, each race likes their own...it's human nature. MOST people that throw the word Racist and Bigot around cannot offer up a reasonable definition of either. I believe there are FAR more prejudiced people in this country that racist. Not defending it, just saying I believe it's true.
- Blacks are equally and in most cases more so racist and bigoted as whites. Look no further than the voter turn out and how ballots were cast for Obama. Sure, you'll say, that doesn't prove they're racist. It doesn't, but, the fact that they will support a black candidate regardless of qualifications or political platform makes you wonder.

Next, the things I find hilarious:

- The left attacking Trump on being racist, a movie star, an egotistical woman hating bastard. You guys might want to check your own before labeling Trump.
- By all accounts, Hilary Clinton is barely more than a criminal. This isn't really speculation, if she were any one of us, she would already be arrested...or at a minimum out of a job. Don't believe me? Any of you white collar guys try hiding emails or sending them unprotected with company secrets.
- This is the good old USA, and we have a relatively serious candidate that is a self proclaimed socialist!!!!! Let that sink in for a minute. Really, anyone that's EVER aspired to a high level of success could NEVER approve of that. Peter Pan was a great story, but, reality doesn't work that way.

(here's the tricky part for the liberals: They don't understand that most Republicans want to help those that truly need help. We just don't want to shell out our hard earned case for those that want to sit on the porch all day live off the government $$$)

Lastly, what I believe...you are not required or expected to agree:

- I think the polls saying Trump can't win are a total farce. I think the Democrats are scared to death of him. (just like we were/are of Obama). I think they know he's going to mop the floor with Hilary.
- Yesterday was the first real "proof" of what I've been saying for a while... This years election will be a VERY low voter turn out for blacks, minorities and the libs in general.
- Obama has ruined race relations in this country. He had a great opportunity to bring the races together and instead has done nothing but divide it more than ever.
- I believe in a level playing field for ALL races. No one gets a leg up (anymore) because of their skin color. I mean, if you want to go down that road, we've got to revamp the NBA, MLB and the NFL. Not to mention college football.
- No candidate (or elected President) will be able to do more than about 10-15% of what they proclaim. Unfortunately, Obama may have managed to break this trend.
- If you are Muslim, Black or hardcore liberal...what I'm saying isn't going to change your mind or your position...just as what you say will not change mine.
- If we could ever get passed the race discussion, we might actually be able to make some progress. But, as long as ALL lives don't matter there will be a divide.

Again, please feel free to call me Racist, Bigot, Old white Man, and whatever else you feel appropriate. The fact is those words have lost meaning with me as they've been over used incorrectly for so long.

Some of them have Post traumatic social justice disorder. Get ready for 'em. You just blew a lot of dog whistles.
It's all good. Once you get to the point when the buzzwords used do not bother you, you're better off. I truly expected to get a ton of backlash on this.

It's quite the problem. In the US, we can't accept what we have to accept to all get along. To be more specific...Christians and Muslims are NEVER going to agree much with each other. It's just not going to happen. Just as Blacks and Whites can't seem to find much common ground. My trick with words is, it would be nice to just accept that we're not going to agree and move on. Embrace the fact that whites like whites, blacks like blacks, etc.... It doesn't mean we can't get along, work together and be friends. It sure doesn't mean we are not equal. The sad part is, this is not a conversation that can be had rationally.

In some ways I might have agreed with you 10 years ago.

But then I adopted a black child.

Racism exists. The playing field is not even. You simply don't see it because you are not subject to it.

This is why Bernie Sanders has lost blacks so badly to Hillary. He believes that racism is just an offshoot of income inequality. My son is part of an upper-middle class white family... and he gets hit with racism all the same. Saying "All lives matter" annoys blacks because right now society already accepts that white lives matter. Their point is "black lives matter just as much as whites lives do." Bernie not getting that simple truth (or not understanding that pointing out that truth is still necessary today) is why he's not being supported by black voters.

YOu are simply wrong on every topic dealing with race in your rant. I understand you don't realize you're wrong... but you'd change your tune if you had witnessed and had to protect your own child from that sort of treatment.

I respect your opinion and I think it's a wonderful thing that you have adopted a son (of any color). However, to say that I'm wrong on every topic...I would completely disagree. Sure, I'll give you the "I haven't seen it" part...you're right, I haven't. But, to see Michael Brown and other pure criminals defended, right up to the POTUS...is equally or more wrong. Racism exist, no doubt about it. But, It's a two way street. To put one race ahead of another is wrong in ANY fashion. You say that society already accepts white lives matter...I'm not so sure. It depends on who you're asking. If you ask whites, sure, they'll say that if they're being honest. But, I don't think blacks, being honest, would view it the same.

I'll add this...if the black lives matter crowd has a reasonable point, the manner in which the are going about it is completely wrong.

DawgInSC,
Plenty of proof in numbers that white lives do NOT matter or we'd be in another (UN)civil war here.
And the fact is black lives DO NOT matter so much to blacks. If you want to keep your adopted son safe,
please read this with an open mind towards your sons own safety:
http://www.colorofcrime.com/2005/10/the-color-of-crime-2005/

There's a lot more out there on this if people care to look. There's an epidemic of blacks getting killed
and it's a self-imposed genocide sold as a culture. More like a death cult.

Here's the deal that perhaps you're not seeing.

In general white people who steal 50 dollars worth of merchandise from a convenience store would be arrested. Michael Brown got shot. It's like people bringing up the fact Trayvon Martin might have smoked pot at some point as somehow excusing his being killed. Committing a crime does not mean ANYONE deserves to be killed. But with black people... YOU seem to accept it as being his fault and that making him not worthy of defense.

White people who are gun rights advocates carry loaded firearms into a store and may get asked to leave politely. A black guy picks up a airsoft rifle in Walmart and talks on the phone... and gets killed. A black kid takes the orange cap off a airsoft gun at a park... and gets killed.

This is where BLM comes from. Not that the black person is "in the right" for what they are doing... but that they don't deserve to get killed because of it... because black lives matter TOO.

And I'm not sure how you want them to "go about it". Quietly? Yeah... that's worked before... never.

Michael Brown got shot because he attacked the police officer!!! This is fact!!

Have you ever noticed that people who cooperate during arrest do not get shot?

OK there are random acts everywhere, against blacks and whites alike where there's an injustice. But, there's been numerous blacks come forth to say, if you don't resist arrest, don't flee the police you don't get shot. It's pretty simple really.

Can you explain why blacks kill blacks in record numbers?

I always see a pattern with you liberals. You use talking points and tend to ignore the facts.

There is SO MUCH misinformation that is put out by the liberal press...I realize it's not easy.

Michael Brown, The group of "peaceful students" kicked out of the Trump rally in Valdosta, all of these poor innocent folks just minding their own business...until mean old racist whitey comes along. Take some fricken responsibility!!!

The difference is this...If Michael Brown had been white and shot by a black cop, white people would have not raised an eyebrow. They would have said he was a piece of garbage and probably had it coming. If a group of whites had been kicked out of a presidential rally for acting like idiots (the Valdosta students were...ask anyone who was there) people would have not raised an eyebrow. You just can't constantly play the victim and expect it to work. We are all subject to our actions.

Just a side note, Trayvon Martin was no angel. AND, a huge news flash here, the guy that shot him wasn't white. But, someone should explain that no matter your color, when you are wearing a hoodie and it's not cold outside, you appear to be up to no good.

First.... if Michael Brown were white he wouldn't have been shot by any cop.
Second... the race of the cop doing the shooting doesn't matter. The view that unarmed blacks are more of a threat than unarmed whites is not limited to white officers.
Third... it is about the actions. A kid walking down the street in a hoodie isn't trailed by an armed member of the neighborhood watch if he's white. A guy stealing cigarettes isn't shot dead by police if he's white. A guy with an outstanding warrant for selling black market cigarettes isn't choked to death by police while not resisting and yelling "I can't breathe" if he's white. A guy talking on his cell phone while holding an airsoft rifle he picked up in the store he's in isn't shot dead by police if he's white. A guy pulled over who leans into his car to get his license when the cop ASKED HIM TO GET HIS LICENSE isn't shot by police if he's white. A kid pretending to shoot people in a park with a toy gun isn't killed by police if he's white.

The same actions don't carry the same consequences if you're white. I see this with my child in everyday life. I probably see more of it than black parents do because people don't think I'm the parent of the black kid they're talking about... though I don't get it directed at me directly like black parents do.

Again... I don't base this just on "the liberal media". This is my life... and it's coming from a white guy who thought 10 years ago we were getting very close to being "post racial". I admit now I was completely and totally blind. Reality has hit me in the face.

Dumb question: how do you know what color a kid/person walking down the street in a hoodie is? Please tell me? Because I can't see someone's face or head that's wearing a hoodie.

And, I'll use your line...I think you're completely wrong on all counts. If a white guy goes for a white cops gun in an attack, he will likely be shot. Go and read the actual facts about the Michael Brown case.

Feel free to believe what you want to believe. But the GOP politicians who share those beliefs are big reasons why minorities (and whites who are the parents of minorities like myself) aren't ever going to vote for the GOP and are going to be heavily motivated to get out vote against a person like Trump.

You can keep telling me I'm wrong all you like. My experience tells me differently... and I'm going to trust my actual eyes over your attempts to convince over the internet.

And yes... you can see people's faces in hoodies. What kind of stupid argument is that?

Alright, since your 'barracuda' won't let you access that website:

I'll let numbers and facts help you out.
Look, ALL kids you have to look out for. It's a dangerous world. I worry about my 4 kids all the time, and that
has a lot to do with everything. You think you're the ONLY one who ever worried about a kid? We all do.
I tell my sons though that Johnny D.Law will NOT have the mercy I will so it's far better to ask me for help
than put yourself in a bad situation. It's a fact. And avoid people who DGAF. They will get you killed and death
knows NO color.

come on dawginsc, i know you must have looked at the facts in the cases you mentioned , you can't attack a cop and expect anything good to happen , brown was not shot for stealing or threatening the store owner . " black lives matter " group attacked the marine in DC because he was white , and they are black cowards , what happened to, it's not acceptable to gang up on a person of any color ? you see it the way you want to in these cases you mentioned , racism goes both ways, i see it like everybody does, that pays attention .

I think it - he writes it (and it saves me a lot of time). With all respect for DawginSC, your argument/discussion centers on what you see. I argument put forth elsewhere, however, centers in my mind on two facts (FACTS) - Blacks commit more crimes than whites. And blacks kill more blacks than whites kill whites. These two statements are inarguable facts. Police, in trying to protect and defend, will profile, based on these facts. The personal experience with a child of a different race than you is understandable, and your indignant outrage is understandable, and somewhat acknowledged. The facts, however, speak for themselves.

As has been pointed out, replace the word "white" with any organization with "black" in the title, and the bearers are immediately accused of racism. It occurs in every race. It's a helluva time, in which we live.

PLease tell me what race these guys are? It's not a stupid argument. Hoodies have been used for YEARS to hide a persons identity. Hell, they're used in most bank robberies. Geez, I don't even know how you can dispute that.

It's a good read keep up the good work Bro.

Seriously... the argument is that hoody = criminal?

Sheesh, I wear hooded sweatshirts all the time and have since I was a kid. I've never been treated like I was going to rob a house.

Yes... if you cover/hide every inch of your skin then I can't tell your race. If I see your hand or your face, I can. Hooded sweatshirts, rain jackets, big hats, gloves, scarfs (scarves?)... all can make it harder to see a piece of skin. But unless they bundle up like someone in a snow storm, a few seconds of observation is generally enough to see skin of some kind.

And for the record... George Zimmerman didn't seem to have a problem when he called the police figuring out Martin's race.

Dispatcher: Okay... and this guy is he White, Black, Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.
....
Zimmerman: Okay, now he's coming toward me.
Dispatcher: Okay.
Zimmerman: He's got his hands in his waistband. He's a black male.

This is a very stupid argument.

Trump is a steaming pile of dog shit beside a stop sign.

A-f*cking-men! I also can't help but laugh at steelchair trying to argue, or at least imply, that racism isn't an issue in this country simply because he doesn't see it. Of course you don't see it because you're white.

Other than that, I could give less than a damn about his or anyone else's political views. Partisan politics, hate, and disrespect for one another's opinions is tearing this country apart. I've always said we're doomed and I've seen nothing lately that makes me thing any differently now. Trump is a steaming pile of dog shit and an embarrassment.

Typical lack of reading comprehension by all of your alter- ego's. You literally have nothing. You stink? That will live on long after you move out of your troll cave.

steelchair:

Let me get in on this.

As for the Michael Brown thing and the Trayvon Martin thing I will grant you. However, I will point out that lots of people simply are unaware of the actual facts of either case. While I certainly believe in personal responsibility, I assign most of the blame for this to the media.

As for the black on white crime thing: sigh. 95-99% of murders against blacks are committed by other blacks. Similarly, 80% of white murders are committed by other whites. Blacks prone to racial thinking are a lot more about the 5% than the 95%? Sure. But whites prone to racial thinking care a lot more about the 20% than the 80% likewise.

"Guess what, Billy Ray and his type built this country."

They had a whole lot of help! Just as they have a whole lot of help maintaining it to this day. So statements like that sound like scratching fingernails against a chalkboard.

"If ANY white candidate had attended a church like Jeremiah Wright's for 20 years they would never have made the white house."

Excuse me, have you ever heard of Mitt Romney? The GOP nominee in 2012? And who would have been the nominee in 2008 had Mike Huckabee (who whose own church - similar to Forsyth County, GA - did not integrate until the late 80s through Huckabee's own efforts by the way) not blocked him? Are you aware of Mormon teachings concerning blacks before 1978? Want to compare those to Jeremiah Wright's teachings? Yet that did not exclude Romney from the GOP nomination and certainly played no role in his failure to get elected president. I have you one better. Ronald Reagan? Grew up attending a denomination that was segregated at the time. Do you know who else did? George H. W. Bush. George W. Bush. Jimmy Carter. And Bill Clinton. And Lyndon Johnson. And Al Gore. And Gerald Ford. (Not Richard Nixon though: he was Quaker.) Bottom line: until recently, Sunday morning was the most segregated time of the day, even after the government, restaurants and workplaces integrated. And virtually no southern politician left his church over its segregationist policies, and no conservative - today or then - says that they should have. So to use that issue against Barack Obama but not against the many white politicians who were members of segregated churches and denominations is simply a clear statement that discriminating against whites is a worse crime than discriminating against blacks. And it was a statement that the American mainstream was unwilling to make.

" Blacks are equally and in most cases more so racist and bigoted as whites. Look no further than the voter turn out and how ballots were cast for Obama."

OK, let's do exactly that. Most Hispanics voted for Obama too. Asians? Voted for Obama by a 3-1 margin. Jews? By a 4-1 margin. Yet blacks - and to a lesser extent Hispanics - are the only ones who get called racist for supporting Obama. It is funny: Jews historically support Democrats at 80% to 85% rate, and it gets even higher depending on the Democrat, yet none of the racial ugliness that gets thrown at blacks over their Democratic support gets directed at Jews. Anyone dare to tell me why?

" Obama has ruined race relations in this country."

I have no idea why so many Republicans keep saying this. The Bush era began with racial divisions - the Bush vs. Gore thing with (mostly false) claims that Jeb Bush uses purges and intimidation to suppress black voter turnout in Florida - and climaxed with the Hurricane Katrina mess, which was far uglier than any single racial event during the Obama era. Folks who make these claims are just doing dog whistle Dixiecrat type politics and know it.

"I mean, if you want to go down that road, we've got to revamp the NBA, MLB and the NFL. Not to mention college football. "

Why did you mention MLB when virtually no blacks play professional baseball anymore (and even fewer watch, which is one of the reasons why the Braves decamped for the suburbs)? But that points to a bigger mental block here: professional athletics in the U.S. is heavily, disproportionately dominated by whites. The THREE sports that blacks are a majority in (football, basketball and the Olympic sprinting sports) get all the attention from conservatives who make the "blacks are dominating sports" claims. By contrast, the vast array of other professional and Olympic sports have almost no black athletes at all ... see the NHL, PGA, PBA, ATP/WTA, the entire Winter Olympics, most of the Summer Olympics etc. Now my point is not that blacks are being systematically excluded from the NHL or anything (and MLB for their part would be thrilled if they had as many black athletes - and fans - as they did in the 70s and 80s) but instead it just shows a real problem with your thinking that is akin to "Billy Rays built this country" and "race relations were fine until Obama messed them up" and "the voters should have punished Obama but not Romney, Bush and every white politician who attended a church or denomination with segregationist policies or other racial problems because black discrimination against whites is totally unacceptable but white discrimination against blacks ... well you have to consider the context."

"If we could ever get passed the race discussion, we might actually be able to make some progress."

The real problem is that the race issue is being used as a stalking horse to promote various flavors of Marxism. Has been since the very beginning with W.E.B Du Bois. Unfortunately, the guys on your side - conservatives - who seem unwilling and unable to point this out. Why? Because conservatism never offered its own alternative political and economic methods back when segregation and discrimination WERE huge issue. For example: hate quotas and affirmative action? Fine. What else did conservatives have to address - for example - the inability of Clarence Thomas to get a good private sector job despite a B.A. from Holy Cross and a J.D. from Yale in the mid-70s? (Yes, I know that Thomas blames affirmative action for this. But those places who rejected him never hired anyone black before affirmative action either, and were using the policy as an excuse because it was no longer acceptable to say "You don't fit the profile of what our firm is looking for; our clients will not want you representing them in their legal and financial matters.)

No one listens to conservatives on race issues now because they took no actions that were helpful then. Had conservatives pressured these institutions to integrate voluntarily back then, A) there would have never been a need for quotas in the first place - by this I mean as they were originally intended when Arthur Fletcher created them while working for Richard Nixon administration and not after they took on an ideological life of their own in the decades since - and B) people wouldn't roll their eyes now when conservatives bring up illegitimacy, crime and rap music (and when they want to present a positive face, school choice). It isn't that those aren't real issues, but rather because conservatives never earned the credibility to address them. That allows the W.E.B. Du Bois school to dominate the racial debate.

"Again, please feel free to call me Racist, Bigot, Old white Man, and whatever else you feel appropriate. The fact is those words have lost meaning with me as they've been over used incorrectly for so long."

I agree. However, the other side being wrong and you being right are two totally different things. At best, both entities are wrong and for their own self-serving reasons, making one side no intellectually or morally superior to the other.

Good luck with Hilary! Obviously, you don't want to address the issues. At least I'm willing to discuss it. You have your view, and I'm absodamnlutely entitled to mine. Wonder why we never hear the term "angry black man"? 'cause, blacks are at least as angry as the "old white men" in this country.

Marshall, first, good job...I think your points were well thought out and made in an intelligent manner. It doesn't mean I agree, but, they are at least well presented. I do agree with you on many of your points...especially on the first three.

I do have a few retorts:

I think the argument on the churches attended by Romney and Huckabee are weak. No proof of blatant racism in the last 20 years. As to the others, that was a different time...hopefully, we've all changed since then.

I put one test in my post for you liberal types and you took it hook line and sinker. MLB would have to be revisited because there are TOO MANY white guys!!! What, you liberals just can't imagine we Repubtards can think like that? You fell into the argument you are trying to make against me...

"I agree. However, the other side being wrong and you being right are two totally different things. At best, both entities are wrong and for their own self-serving reasons, making one side no intellectually or morally superior to the other.[/QUOTE]

Interesting comment...I don't totally disagree, but, at least my argument is peaceful.

Again, I applaud you at least putting thought into your response vs. just saying I stink, or I'm an angry white guy, etc...and again, you made some valid points. Wise you were open minded enough to realize I did too.

This is a very stupid argument.
Nope, you keep missing the point. I wear hoodies at times. The point is, when it's 75 degrees outside, WTF do you have the hood up? It doesn't say you're a criminal, but, it doesn't help. You have it up for a reason.

You're not getting the point at all, sure Zimmerman got his race. The point is, often hoodies are used to hide behind....if you know that ahead of time, why do it? Same reason if you know ahead of time that pointing a toy gun with no orange tip at others in a park might get you shot...why do it.

I'm not a Klan member, but, I bet if i wore a klan outfit through certain parts of town I would get killed or close to it. It's common sense.

NO, the fact is, we live in a world where we are supposed to just sit back and say..."whatever...is OK". "Don't judge". Sorry, If I see you wearing a hoodie when it's 75+ outside, I'm thinking you're up to no good. I don't care about your color.
