Hello Dawg fans,

What big shoes we have to fill here.

The first couple of games this season we had to dodge a few showers here and there. It only took three weeks for us to get a game with good weather … and of course, it had to be an away game. Earlier this week we had a cold front sweep across the southern United States bringing much drier air to the region. Drier air = less moisture to induce rain (we could go into a lot more detail but we wont bore you). And that’s going to stick around with us through this weekend and into next week. Conditions here in the Athens area are going to be almost identical to that in Columbia. Whether you will be tailgating here in the Classic City or traveling to South Carolina, we are confident rain will not pose a threat and temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s. However, with a high pressure forecasted to be situated right over the Carolinas, there will be a little bit of a breeze that could cause some trouble for Stetson and Podlesny.

This is a pretty solid week weatherwise to get out and enjoy a classic SEC rival football game. Stay tuned to AthensGaWeather and follow us on Twitter @AnsleyParkWX & @pjg_wx for continued weather updates on Saturday and throughout the season. As always, Go Dawgs!
