This time last week:
1. Thought Sahvir Wheeler might be coming. Only to find out he was being crystal balled to Washington by some national analysts. Not good.
2. Thought we might get the big man Russel Tchewa from UCF. Would have been a good get. Later find out he wasn’t having a full weekend visit, left Saturday at breakfast in what would appear to be a move to visit someone else. Didn’t make the G Day game. Not good.
3. National analyst were saying Amaree Abram to either Ole Miss or LSU. Not good.
4. We had really no clear leads on any big men. And definitely not any big men that wouldn’t be an absolute project. Which we have done 1 billion times over. Not good.

Now:
1. We landed one of the top big men in the portal in Jalen Deloach. Almost out of nowhere. A guy that will reinforce the way Mike White wants to play and will probably be a huge building block for our future. Amazing.
2. Lots of smoke that Amaree Abram might commit by Monday. Highly ranked transfer guard that would set us up well for next year and the future. Amazing.
3. Noah Thomasson, the bucket getter. Starts talking mid week about being excited about his visit here and then it appears to be going really well. Awesome.

We still have to close on Abram and Thomasson. We saw this week how things can change on a dime with the transfer portal and what players actually end up doing. Even if we do close on Abram and Thomasson, we still have two spots and it would appear we still need to find a point guard and another big. And we really need to find some ballers at those spots too, the sec ain’t playing around. But this weekend definitely has a much rosier outlook than last weekend. Thank goodness. Fun day/weekend for the hoop dawgs. Go Dawgs!
