“Exciting whites” not sure how to feel on this one.

Term being used to describe 2 white players on the Eagles team, DeJean and Blankenship. As a white man I’m not offended and actually think it’s kind of funny considering both are excelling in a sport largely dominated by black men,
But, what would be the reaction of a similar term being used to describe a couple of black men on a hockey team or the PGA tour? Would it be considered funny or derogatory?
