UGA WBB

Gadogs.com: Georgia Blows Past Georgia Southern, 85-59

"Depth is going to help for sure," head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said. "Everybody wants to do good all the time. Sometimes you're not going to make shots, but you can always play great defense. You can always get loose balls. You can always do hustle plays; you can always make great passes like Chloe (Chapman) did tonight. You can always set good screens. I'm trying to teach them that 80% of the game is all those things and 20% is offense. So, if we can continue to have this strength in numbers, it's going to be really hard to guard us. When we get to the SEC, we're going to have all kinds of different lineups and it's going to be a lot of fun."

SEC Basketball

Kentucky
Rob Cassidy: Five-star C Jayden Quaintance is off the board to Kentucky, which held off a hard charge by Mizzou to land the unique big man.

Missouri
Matt Harris: With Quaintance off the board, that should wrap up the '24 portion of high-school recruiting. #Mizzou tossed out 57 offers, hosted 17 visitors, signed five players, and exits the early period with the No. 3 class in 247Sports' composite.

On to Portal SZN in April.

College Basketball

Bucknell
Sean Paul: An under the radar mid-major name so far is Noah Williamson from Bucknell. Made huge strides this off-season. Averaging 12 points and seven boards. Skilled 7-footer, who still has plenty of upside to unlock.

Clemson

Connecticut

Kansas State
Rothstein: Kansas State's Arthur Kaluma (knee) is expected to play in Friday's game against Providence in the Bahamas, per Jerome Tang.

DNP last night against South Dakota State.
Averages 9 PPG and 8 RPG.

NaeQae Tomlin remains indefinitely suspended with no timetable for a return.

Michigan

Purdue

Western Carolina
Sean Paul: I put the warning out three months ago. Western Carolina is 3-0 with dubs over MTSU and Notre Dame. The Catamounts have a legitimate shot to contend for a SOCON title. That’s what happens when a guy like Vonterius Woolbright is making the decisions

Western Carolina has real sleeper appeal in the SOCON. Returning daily triple double threat Vonterius Woolbright (6-6 point guard, who can pass it, attack the rim and go coast to coast off the rebound.) needs to improve shooting. Also back is sharpshooter Tre Jackson (15 PPG, 42% from deep.)

The Catamounts lost Tyzhaun Claude (15 PPG, 8 rpg) to Georgia Tech but bring in Charles Lampten to play the five. Not a one for one swap, but Lampten should be a solid rim protector and lob threat.

Expecting another jump from Bernard Pelote at the four.

We can’t forget Western Carolina took Furman to the brink of defeat in the SOCON tourney — took them to overtime and lost by three. Woolbright and Jackson is possibly the best duo the league has to offer.
