Five star power forward Asa Newell is the biggest target for Georgia in the Mike White era. The five star out of Florida was recruited by white when he was head coach at Florida. Assistant coach Erik Pastrana gave Newell his first college offer while at Oklahoma State. Pastrana is the lead recruiter for Newell. Georgia is mainly battling Indiana for Newell and the buzz behinds the scenes is Georgia is the leader for Newell at this point.

Georgia’s top target on the wing is the No. 33 overall prospect Derrion Reid. The in state product recently visited Georgia for its big win over Kentucky. Reid also visited Georgia back in September. Georgia is battling Mississippi State and Alabama for Reid. Georgia is an early favorite for Reid at this time

Four star point guard Bishop Boswell is one of the three guards Georgia is heavily recruiting. Boswell is more of a combo guard who could run the point or be a two guard. Boswell visited Georgia in the summer and has been in constant contact with the staff. In state Wake Forrest is doing a good job recruiting Boswell as well. Georgia and Wake Forrest are neck and neck for the four star guard.

Four star point guard Gicarri Harris is the son of former NBA star Glenn Robinson. Robinson’s father attended Purdue who is Georgia’s biggest challenger at this stage. Harris is being recruited as a guy who can run the point or the two guard spot. Georgia and Purdue are above others early on.

Austin Swartz has been a priority for the Georgia staff since the beginning of his recruitment. Swartz recently told rivals Georgia and Virginia Tech are the two schools he’s most comfortable with. Georgia is expected to receive an official visit from Swartz who is gaining offers fast. It’s safe to say Georgia is in a terrific spot early on.

Khani Rooths is another top target for Georgia. The forward out of IMG originally hails out of Washington DC. Maryland, Virginia Tech, Alabama, and others all have been recruiting Rooths hard. Georgia has increased contact with Rooths over the last several months. A visit is expected soon and Georgia landing Rooths teammate Blue Cain can’t hurt its chances. I would give the early edge to Maryland right now.
