This is not a fire Mike White post. I’m not a fan of this style of basketball but just want to point something out. We pretty much knew Crean was going to be fired in year 4 after the transfer portal hit, we had no NIL funds, and Crean’s personality. So we had a year to figure out who to get as head basketball coach. In that years time our best idea was White. Which was a relief because it truly looked like we might be about to hire Jonas Hayes. It took Fla 5 days to find Todd Golden. Mike White hired on March 13, 2022, Golden hired on March 18, 2022. And there is also the fact we didn’t even look at Todd Golden. And the fact that we brought in Dennis Gates in for an interview but didn’t offer him. Good times.
