Starting it off with I think some people on this board forgot how hard it is to win on the road in this league. The usual rule is to win your home series and don’t get swept on the road. That gets you to .500 and in the postseason as long as you also win majority of your non conference. Steal a series on the road and sweep a home series and you are likely a top 16 seed. We were a top 8 last year at 17-13… don’t forget we are on pace to be better than that. Win tomorrow, take care of the midweek and looks like we will have the number one team in Arkansas coming into Athens next weekend.

I have two concerns from today… The strikeouts are coming at an alarming pace. We are striking out 10+ times a game over the last five. We swept last weekend so it was no harm no foul but the same cannot be said for this weekend. We have had a lot of whiffs and soft contact this weekend.

The second concern is why did we pull Kolten so quickly today? It seemed Wes took him out because he knew Kolten wouldn’t rebound from the Jackson error. Overall he wasn’t that bad and also should have had an overall better fate. Perhaps we get out of that inning if that play is made. I don’t want to talk in what if’s but the fact Kolten got pulled and only threw what 35 pitches? Leads me to think he will still not be starting next weekend. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think we should have seen him work more through that seventh inning.

I remember before the season Dash asked coach about the experimenting in the field and CWJ said overall that’s over. The rotations overall this year have been nothing like last season but I think today we learned a lesson. I get Daniel Jackson is a much more athletic catcher than most but he hasn’t looked comfortable in the OF all season and today that positioning came back to bite us.
