ABC asking questions to set up Kamala to attack Trump

Trump has zero discipline and keeps taking obvious bait. He can't get out of his own way. Immigration is an issue he absolutely crushes her on with both sides of the vote, and he got baited into talking about rallies and then only circled back to immigration to accuse illegals of eating dogs. He's a damn moron.

The morons in our party created this disaster. Nikki Haley would wipe the floor with Kamala.

Correct. Not nearly as bad as his first debate w Biden in 2020. But not great. Honestly don’t think the needle moves much though.

Suck it up buttercups. He's getting twice the time to answer as Harris. He keeps cutting off the moderators. He keeps lying and they are calling him out.

He's offered NOTHING of substance tonight. Just grievance after grievance after grievance. She's giving him rope and he's hanging himself. Twice over.

Trump didn't do well. Some of that was his fault. Some of that is because of how ABC structured the debate.

Trump was called out for lying.
Harris wasn't. And yes, she made false statements. (IVF, the border, immediately come to mind)

Trump was called out for not directly answering questions. Harris wasn't. (Her flip flops, late term abortions.

Especially towards the end of the debate, ABC really focused on fat targets....favorite topics, of the left. Race, climate change, and Obamacare for example. The question about the identity of Harris was particularly unfair. An unexpected question, about the most inflammatory issue in the nation.

Again, it's interesting he was asked about his comments...that were stupid.. But Harris wasn't asked about some of her stupid comments, about major issues "Russia is a big country" for example.

Finally I don't think Trump offered too much substance. Harris didn't either It's hard to talk about the future, when the questions focus largely on Jan. 6, Obamacare, etc.

Yes she sure is..no substance, no plan , now let’s go hide back in the basement and read off the teleprompter the two months
Trump was destroyed last night and was shown to be the angry, deranged, ancient candidate that he’s been this entire campaign. Eating your pets, post-birth abortions, refusal to say a single word in support of Ukraine, “concept of a plan” for healthcare (eight years later), refusal to accept 2020 results. Harris said Trump was mocked by international leaders and Trump’s response was focused entirely on Victor Orban, who most Americans don’t know and the ones who do know he is one of the strongmen Trump loves so much.

Harris was measured, consistent and delivered the message she wanted to deliver. When she provided an opening for Trump to strike, he completely missed his opportunities just as Biden missed his openings to criticize Trump in the last debate.

Trump spoke for forty two minutes to thirty seven for Harris and every moment of Trump’s extra five minutes was a win for Harris. That’s a disaster.

ABC fact-checked three statements.

Crime is down, not exploding as Trump claimed.

No state allows post-birth abortion.

There are no credible reports of Haitians eating people’s pets.

Those are three extreme, objectively false lies that deserved to be fact-checked. If you think that’s unfair, perhaps consider the possibility that the problem is a candidate who consistently states obvious lies as facts.

Did i say fact checking Trump was unfair?

The three fact-checks were big, obvious and easily disproven lies. I agree that Harris provided opportunities to be corrected but they were generally not of the “immigrants are eating your pets” or “people are murdering newborns” nature of lies.

The debate covered inflation, Afghanistan and other topics that were weak points for Harris and Trump failed to capitalize on them. He failed to capitalize on nearly any of his opportunities to score points and when he did he typically undid his good work in his next answer.

I appreciate you going back, mostly, to things I actually discussed. Harris wasn't fact checked at all. There was some discussion on Harris weak points, I agree. But the moderators let her off easy, in my view.

That said, i agree there were definitely layups that Trump missed. Badly

That was a bad debate for the Don

It isn’t so much that Harris out debated him or crushed him on anything of any substance

It’s just simply Trump is a dumass and didn’t capitalize on the numerous opportunities to choke her out on the issues presented

He’s the team that turned the ball over 3 times inside the 20 and settled for a couple of FGs while losing 9-6

The crime stat shouldn’t have been questioned. Crimes are down because they aren’t being prosecuted or prosecuted well. You can rob any big chain you want now without prosecution. Here in Athens 14 straight murder trials were lost. This is common knowledge. You know this. The reporters know this. If they want to mention those things about Trump, it is their moderation, but it should have been done both ways. Otherwise you are literally arguing with the moderators. That isn’t how a debate should be moderated ever. You know this. It was a bad night for Trump. I readily admit this, but abc’s group did all they could to make it even worse.

Over in Atlanta part of the area wanted to break apart because crime was so rampant and nothing was being done about it. They should fact check themselves. This is why the defund the police movement is never mentioned by the left anymore. Because it was a colossal f up.

They are doing all they can to help her
Imagine that? Crazy that they would ask him about denying for almost four years that Biden was actually elected.

Also, couldn't see the questions about Jan. 6th coming. Who knew?

You sounds like a Vols fan explaining why a 38-6 drubbing was actually much close than the score indicated. It was a comprehensive beat down. Trump came across as angry, irrational and just plain old. Post-birth murder, pets being eaten, the last election, crowd size, everyone including democrats wanted Roe overturned, on and on and on.

Trump’s vision is dark, pessimistic and only he can save us.

Harris talks about the future and her faith in America and our people.

Trump supporters should feel very similar to how Biden supporters felt after the first debate. That’s how bad it was. Instead, we will hear how what we all watched last night wasn’t the beat down it obviously was.

You aren’t wrong about the clear winner and trump doing what trump does. Harris answered questions on her ability not so much on policy.

The economy being tough for most people is why trump wins anyway. To your point if he does in fact lose he has only himself to blame.

He allowed himself to get baited.

HAHAHAH Come on man. The bar was set very low for her in comparison to the previous debate.

She failed to answer basic questions right out the gate herself as well as lying herself.

I feel nothing like a Biden supporter hahaha quit trying to draw an equivalent to the brain dead current POTUS supporters who had been fed a book of lies hook line and sinker about their candidate, only to have it crush them to the tune of changing candidates.

Trump is who he was, and neglected to take advantage of opportunities to combat her. that is because he is a dumass. That was somewhat expected but disappointing none the less.

Having your current POTUS go on stage only to tank his campaign bid within 24 hours of that debate does not compare to losing a debate.

Poor comparison

If you are an undecided voter, which obviously neither of us are, who moved the needle last night? The economy is what it is but there are still undecideds out there. Did Trump score points on the economy last night? Did he convince anyone that his plan is superior to the Harris plan? I don’t think so.

As we’ve discussed, this entire election comes down to less that 400k or so voters in five states. I think Harris ultimately conveyed to those people that she is up for the job and Trump completely failed to do the same. That’s the only aspect of last night’s debate that matters.

And as I’ve been saying, we are only going to get more of what we saw from Trump last night. There is no pivot, there is no focusing on policy, he’s got one act and he couldn’t change it if he wanted to, and he doesn’t want to. Barring some significant unforeseen event, Harris is going to win by enough to render any post-election plans for 2020-style disruption ineffective.

Riiiiiight......I'm sure everything she's said has been 100% accurate.

She wasn't 100% accurate... but she also wasn't going off on wild tangents talking about feral immigrants eating puppies and questioning her opponent's race. Trump has a discipline issue. He always has... its a bad flaw.

He just goes all-in and and grabs these wild internet fantasy rumors and runs with them and the moderators are 100% prepared.

Harris had a very shaky, nervous start which probably got Trump a little overconfident... but then the abortion issue came up which has been a huge scoring topic for democrats and could in fact cost the Republicans the White House this term, and Harris was ready for it. It was clear she had prepared and prepared well for that moment and that topic and she pounced on it and on Trump. When she said "couples are praying..." Trump was suddenly staring ahead wide-eyed, caught off guard, and clearly agitated from that point forward...

.... and from that point forward Harris regained her confidence, stuck to her game plan of baiting Trump and cleaned his clock the rest of the night.

Trump is just such an undisciplined person... I mean, if someone like Kamala Harris can so easily play him and trigger him, what do we think other World Leaders will do to him.

The fact is that Trump actually does have some good economic ideas... there's a reason why the public still trusts him more on the economy and in his last term he showed you can in fact play hardball with China and not wreck the economy... If he could just stay disciplined and stay on point instead of grasping at these wild fantastical fantasies that the furthest right of his supporters come up with and actually just debate his ideas he would have gotten re-elected last time... and he could get elected this time.

But he just can't do it and thats why he'll never be an effective leader.
