Gordon’s birthday. I took my younger brothers to see him play at Paul’s Mall in Boston, on the coldest night that winter. You can only appreciate cold in a coastal town, and the wind was heavy and bitter cold. Had to be ‘77 or ‘78 and he’d just returned from Europe. I first heard the name in On the Road,so naturally when i saw the 1” x 2” add in the Globe, I had to see him.
