into using that money to pay down our house . The market is awful in our area . In fact looking at the comparable sales in our area , I doubt our house is worth what we paid :

So I'm going up to the property tax office and lower our tax bill . So a new truck going to be at least a year away if not longer .

Pardon my ignorance, but how does a mortgage paydown reduce your property taxes?
