Every other post for weeks was about CMW has lost the team, they have quit, we suck. Post after post with lists of what coaches we should be pursuing. What did our team do...they kept their heads down, CMW made some smart changes to what we were doing on offense and they continued to believe in each other. Make no mistake. That is all about character. Persevering through adversity reveals the truth about people.
The defense slacked off some for a few games, but that was partly due to the level of competition and, imo, partly due to our stagnated offense. When you are playing good D and you cannot score on the other end for long periods it wears on you. Now we know when we get a stop we are pushing the ball and looking for early opportunities...a new mindset on both ends.
Our defense will keep us in just about any game. And now, with our changes, we can win the close games vs good teams.
