@DonutDawg because I know how much you love the farmer school

opelikaGED: Players and coaches expected to win by 28+. Word is they expected to hit big pass plays and Hunter to bull Cal around. They were shocked when the expectations didn’t play out.
Seems legit as that is exactly what the Gameplan looked like.

beginningtowonder: Seems like a bad idea to use a gameplan that relies on Thorne to hit big pass plays. Recipe for big ass plays if you ask me.

butthurts: Then our coaching staff face planted. We came into the season on a 3 game losing skid and started the same damn QB this year. They need to get out of their damn bubble. Nobody thought we would be good this year outside of East AL.

consistencysucks: What is it with AU and hiring offensive “geniuses” who can’t go off script and make adjustments. What looks good on Tuesday in the film room is what we’re gonna do dammit. Even if it means you lose to Cal and Maryland and Jerry Kills New Mexicans. God forbid actually corching a little bit on Saturdays.

yellawoodydebtor: When do we start blaming poors for not giving their money to some weird collective to pay better players? Are we to that stage of grief yet?

coachesclearinghouse: This place went from 10-2 to FAHR ERRBODY within three hours.

littleredheadedbrother: Making excuses? Is acknowledging the fact that we’re in the middle of a very long/difficult rebuild an excuse?
WHY CANT WE WIN ERRRY GAME RIGHT NOW PAWWLLLL???

minivansugardaddy: The staff is in over its head and that’s not going to change. We need a transformational coach and not a retread. Unfortunately that’s not in the cards. Embrace mediocrity.

atleastwearentfloriduh: Yeah this place just got too excited as usual. 6 or 7 wins was always the realistic outlook.

harsinmalzhanneverleft: Losing sucks, but it how we lose.. It was living in the past all over again.

cultcuck: I think no one, players and coaches, should get paid a dime when we shit the bed like this. If we are > 25 point favorites and lose, no $$$$$ for that weeks work.
Let’s see how motivated everyone gets after that. This has got to stop.

teamsoutwestaregoooood: Errry game?? Who expects us to win “errry” game? However, most don’t expect to be DOMINATED at home by a middling west coast team that barely gives a shit about football.
What is it about you hew lovers that can’t admit that is a problem? Ya’ll make everything about “unrealistic” expectations like it is unrealistic to expect to beat New Mexico and Cal, AT HOME, regardless of the shape of the damn program.

suicidaltiger:
I’m done trying to push back against this shit. Hugh has lost control of the narrative after only the second game in his second season and if we are being honest that is beyond the point of no return. He will always be fighting an uphill battle no matter what successes he has this year and 7-6, 7-5, and 8-4 will no longer cut it. He’ll have to pull out a literal miracle and win 9 if he still has any delusions of leaving here with an in-tact ego and positive reputation. He should’ve known better than to allow losses like Cal to happen, he knew we would eat him alive at the very first opportunity and he decided to draw up an idiotic gameplan without a safety valve if it didn’t work.
We fvcking suck and will suck forever. Outsider or insider, young or oulde, laid back or hardass, retread or up and coming, we are where coaches go to lose whatever spark it was they once had that led them to success at prior stops and whither on the vine. We are fvcked. We’re going to replay this exact same scenario every three years until the Earth is vaporized by the expansion of our sun. Hugh will go 5-7 this year the rug will be pulled out from out from under him, the 2025 class will fall apart, kids will hit the porthole, and we’ll be having an identical conversation in 2027 about whoever Hugh’s successor is.
It’s over folks, time to take the next two years off until the next guy is hired in December 2025.
